Salary: Fringe Leadership scale 18 - 24 (£73,034 - £84,391)

Start date:  As soon as possible

Location: Based within the Kent region

Alternative Learning Trust (ALT) is seeking to appoint a dynamic, inspirational and effective Head of School to take a lead at our new satellite provision, opening in September 2024. This provision will work with ALT’s existing Kent Alternative Provision (AP) - North West Kent Alternative Provision Service (NWKAPS).

The new school will cater for children and young people aged 11-19 who have disengaged from mainstream education due to social, emotional or mental health difficulties. We are responding to the increase in need in our Kent region which is the main reason for this recent expansion.

Ideally the successful candidate will be available sooner than 1 September 2024 to ensure the vision is fully included in the development of the school and staff team. You will have the ability to recruit to, inspire, motivate and develop a skilled staffing team, underpinned by secure accountability and a supportive and aspirational culture within the school. You will be solution-focused, resilient and an exceptional communicator and have the ability to demonstrate high-level organisational and operational management skills in addition to exceptional strategic leadership.
